Ear Pendants, Karnphul Jhumka
Gold ear pendants, KARNPHUL JHUMKA, ornamented with granulation.
These ear pendants have two levels of dome-shapes. The word JHUMKA is of Persian origin, it passed through Punjabi to Hindi and other Indian languages, with local variations of spelling. The verb JHUMKANA means to cause to glisten, glitter or flash, but as well to sway, to dance, to jingle or to ‘shake-swing’.
Pins and poussettes have been redone for hygiene and safety purpose and to accommodate Western use.
