Multi Colored Double Beads Ear Pendants
A pair of 18k gold ear pendants, an oval top with suspended stem, with a gold oval bead halfway down the stem and a gold oval bead at the end. The gold beads are decorated with delicate multi color enamel in a linear pattern.
The enamel decor is a reference to the white plaster paint decorations one would see on clay water vessels, BHAVIA, stacked and carried over often long distances by the women of the rural parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, India. The gold bead is a reference to these water vessels. The wave like pattern is a stylised reference to the rippling of water. This motif in indian art is connected with flowing water, which in this concept is considered a fertility symbol.
