Although we are already well into January, it is always a good idea to extend warm wishes… agree?
After an amazing, whirlwind year, beautiful Christmas and our annual family & friends skiing trip, not to forget the final stages of construction work and our move into Van Gelder Galleries, we took a little online break for some very welcome analog days, introspection and regrouping!
We still pinch ourselves when we look around our new workplace, although still a work in progress, we certainly are getting there!
These wonderful and spacious new surroundings can only lead to more beautiful jewelry designs, heritage treasures and amazing encounters and connections…
We can’t wait to welcome you at #vangeldergalleries !
We have been sharingglimpses of the work or the amazingly talented and equally wonderful Mme D of Swantribune.
Exactly last year to date we put up a post on our social channels with a #bluemonday tag, and through the omniscient algorithms of instagram, some similar images appeared for us to discover… We were immediately intrigued when a lovely naïve hand drawing of a place in Jaipur, all to familiar to us, appeared! We browsed further through the feed where this work came from, and never wasted anytime to reach out. We found common ground over India at first, but soon discovered this was only the beginning!
This initial discovery lead to a wonderful collaboration between Van Gelder Indian Jewellery and Swantribune.
We aim to share stories, in the prettiest way we can think of…, namely through our jewellery. The ancient Indian and Mughal art of miniature painting is another beautiful way of sharing stories, and creating context to the jewels in our Heritage Collection.
By commissioning Swantribune we add a new, contemporary chapter to that long art tradition…; Let mme D lead de way, in welcoming you to Van Gelder Galleries!
